What Do You Get?

Your primary package is the professional documentary interview with your subject, of your selected duration: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes.

We will travel to the location of your choosing to film, providing proof of insurance and identification. Ideally, we will be provided with a dossier regarding the interviewee at least a week beforehand, supplemented by telephone conversations with the commissioning relative or friend, or others. We ask that at least three hours be allocated to this appointment, longer for the 45 and 60 minute films. We will take at least an hour and a half to set up and have a an informal chat with our interviewee.

As with any piece of filmed material, we will shoot more than we will use in the final edit. You are welcome to have this raw material included on your DVD (but not in Vimeo link) and data files for an extra charge dependant on length. But remember that these are out-takes, and the subject himself or herself might prefer not to have these kept.

Upon final delivery, you will have a professional, polished little film in your possession (including copyright), to include title sequence and music. On point to the music, due to copyright laws, you must own the music in a consumer format (CD, download or on a streaming service) to use it in your film and your film can be for private or educational use ONLY. If you intend to share it commercially, we can compose music for you, or licence it in the usual professional way. This would be negotiated separately, and not all music is available for this use.

Whilst these treasures are ultimately for your use—you and your family own the copyright—we encourage you make use of our offer to deposit a copy (at our expense) with your Local Record Office and/or library so that a wider audience, including academic researchers, might benefit from the stories and experiences shared.

If a longer film is commissioned, and the interviewee's responses are such that a shorter film is preferable (perhaps he or she is a particularly pithy speaker?), you will be warned of this situation in advance, and your invoice adjusted accordingly.
